Katrin moved from Germany to Nova Scotia 18 years ago and in 2010 she and her family settled in Nova Scotia’s beautiful Annapolis Valley. Eating healthy and well is important to her and a good loaf of bread is essential for breakfast to start your day right and for lunch or supper, a sandwich or two is sometimes just the right meal.
Recreating the breads she grew up with – solid, nutritious and good tasting – Katrin bakes her yeast breads with as few pure ingredients as possible, ensuring that a minimal amount of salt is used and no sugar is added.
Where possible her ingredients are locally sourced and all loaves are kneaded and shaped by hand. New this year is her Kamut/Rye bread as a low gluten alternative and her baguette.
